Hello Sunshines ^_^
I guess a girl can never have too many eyeshadow palettes! So i'm back, reviewing another one for you,the Vintage Romance palette by Sleek! If you have been around here before, probably you saw it already on my Boots Haul post, where except of this palette,i bought another one from the same brand, the Enchanted Forest and is already reviewed a couple of days before,in case you want to check it out!!
So this palette is coming with 12 eyeshadows,a mirror as big as the top lid and a two sided spongy applicator!I like that the packaging is slim, black and minimal, and even though that it's plastic,it doesn't look too sensitive to through it into your bag or travel with!
This will sound weird but how much i love the names of the eyeshadows!!Sleek seems to have a theme about the names in each of their palettes! In the previous one, that i reviewed the names are inspired by the Cinderella's fairytale and this one seems to be inspired by romantic actions in different cities! How cute is that!
This palette makes my hopeless romantic me,jump all around!
But let's get a closer look on the actual product, the eyeshadows...
Texture : Most of the shades are shimmery, some more and some less! There is only one that it's completely matte, the Propose In Prague!Other shades are a little bit shimmer, like the Honeymoon In Hollywood, others are chunkier, like the Love In London and others have a metallic finish, like the Meet In Madrid and Pretty In Paris!
Colors : As you can tell from the swatches is not an ''everyday'' palette! The colors are quite more bold, but you can always use just one color, all over your lid,so you can start your day with a little bit of color and sparkle! What i like the most in this palette,is that you get a combination of gold/brown colors and purples,so you have choices if you are a neutral type of girl or more into colors one!
Also in this palette you get a completely brown, more like hazelnut brown, which works perfectly as a transition color, and you can pair it with all the other eyeshadows!Another one great addition to this palette,is the white shimmery color, the Pretty In Paris, which looks so beautiful in the inner corners of your eyes!Last but not least you get a black color with quite intense silver shimmer, the Love In London,in case you want to add a more dramatic touch in your look!
Pigmentation : Surprisingly, all of the shades are so so pigmented! The swatches that you can see above in the photos, are made by just picking up a little bit of product!A little goes a long way!The only shade that i have some difficulties with, was the Bliss In Barcelona! It came out on my finger but not on my hand, but maybe if i use a brush it will work out! Also i should tell again with surprise, that those shadows last a lot!Without a primer and with lids that doesn't really hold for long the eyeshadows, those were lasting for about 5 hours, maybe even more!
I decided to include a makeup look with this review,in order to show you what shadows i paired together!Ofcourse you can create so many different looks with this palette,so let me know if you want to see more looks with this one or in general!
I will be honest with you,i was too tempted to create a look using all those beautiful purple colors, but because i show you before looks with those kind of colors,i decided to do something different!I created a gold-blue-ish kind of look!
I used the Meet In Madrid all over the lid,the Propose In Prague as a transition color and as a crease color i pick up the Romance In Rome!I thought that it will be more in a blue side but ends up,looking more grey-ish,but still happy how all this turns out!
Overall,i'm really happy with this palette and i'm so looking forward to use it again! You get really quality shadows in such low price! If you are looking for some shimmer golds and purple colors then i guess this palette will be a great fit and i recommend it to you for sure!!
