Hello Sunshines ^_^
How are you?
A couple months ago i did a review about The Nudes palette by Maybelline, which in case you didn't read it already,i really like and enjoy it!So when the brand came out with a new palette,The Blushed Nudes, which basically is the pink/rose gold version of the first one,i was pretty excited!
Before the review let me tell you the background story with this palette!A couple of days before Valentine's day i pick up this palette in order to create a makeup look for this day,to uploaded on the blog!I was thinking that all those pinky shades will be looking perfect.
But as you can tell this never happened!I try them on,and i didn't really like them, they felt so off,the color didn't paid off and as you can tell i left it on my vanity! At this point i need to be honest and admit the truth, that this day i was super hurry because the photos of the look should be taken and i was busy overall!
After that,i didn't use it again but i seen it a lot here and there,so i decided to give it a try again, create a makeup look, which you can find it on my Instagram (insert ''wink'' emoji here), and write a review about it!Before i started with the review i want to clear out that i normally write about products that i really love and believe on them and this one it's the first that i'm not feel it 100%,i'm more in the middle! But i wanted to write this review, because i see a lot of them around and my opinion it's different from them and i wanted to put it out there!Ofcourse those are my opinion and how works on me and it's possible to works wonders on you....
Starting with the packaging, has some cons and pros! The pros are that has a beautiful rose gold color, which make it eyecatching and because of the size, small and sleek, it's travel friendly! On the other side though the shadows,as you can tell from the photo above tend to be messy, because they are not divided properly and the pans look like they are overfilled!
The palette,as the original one, comes with the instructions on the back and a brush inside on the packaging!Surprisingly, the brush comes in handy and you can create the entire makeup look with just this, like i did!!It comes with a normal brush on the one side, which help with blending and with a spongy thing on the other side, for applying the eyeshadow all over the lid!
About the actual product now, again i can tell that you have hit and misses! All the shades feel soft and buttery and super easy to blend but some of them pay off their color well and some others not,as you can tell from the swatches above!!The 4 lighter colors was quite a disappointment because on my eyes you can't see them at all,no matter how much i will use!Probably this was the reason that i gave up with the palette the first time because i was tried to use one of those shades all over y lid, which was impossible!Although, maybe i can use them as highlighter on the inner corner of my eyes and under my brow,in days that i want something light and natural!
The other 6 shades,i can tell that work really good, pay off the color and it's buildable, which is great!Something that i didn't except at all (for the reasons hat i explained you above),i wore the eyeshadows for about 5 hours and barely fade out!Considered that my eyelids are a little bit oily and without using primer this is quite impressive!
Not sure how i feel about this palette, because i don't love it but i don't hate it either! If you try to choose between this one and the nudes, for sure i recommend to buy the nudes one!If you are looking for a palette with pinky shades,in an affordable price and you are a beginner and just want to experiment with colors before trying something more expensive, maybe this palette works good for you!!
Do you every tried this palette? What are your thoughts about it?
Also i will love to hear from you, what do you want to review next?
Hope you like it
Keep Smile :)
xoxo
